Group Technology & Operation
Q – What have the Bank’s CEO and the Head of Strategy got in common?
A – They have both spent time in the Technology and Operations function
We are trying to encourage all of our junior leaders to do similarly. Technology and Operations are major strategic differentiators for Standard Chartered. Flexible technology systems enable us to extract more value quickly from our growing businesses and we achieve economies through scale and integrating operational activities.
Group Technology and Operations (GTO) is one of the few areas which spans right across the bank, uniquely interacting at all hierarchical levels, offering them a myriad of tools and services.
Joining GTO as a Graduate Associate can open up a range of diverse and exciting career options. Whether your aspirations are to develop state of the art software, reengineering/automating processes in a BPO environment, leading a large operational unit or even a subtle blend of the three - GTO is the place for you!
Group Operation
Tens of thousands of transactions take place every day at one of the 50+ Standard Chartered locations. Group Operations is there to ensure that it’s concluded accurately, quickly and securely.
Group Operations comprises of approximately 8,000 professionals partnering closely with our two key business units – Consumer and Wholesale Banking. We have three large processing centres situated in Malaysia, India and Ghana and onshore locations mirroring our business across the globe. You could start your Operations career in any one of these processing units or be part of a process re-engineering project team.
As a Graduate Associate in Operations degree subject is not important to us but we are looking for individuals with lots of drive, creative problem solving, customer orientation and bags of enthusiasm!
